Las Vegas, NV : 51-year-old man died after a motorcycle crash in the northwest valley on Friday night, January 22, 2016
A 51-year-old man involved in a collision in the northwest valley on Friday night died just a couple of days later, authorities said Tuesday.
Donald Merritt Jr. succumbed to injuries from the crash on Sunday morning.
The Nevada Highway Patrol responded to the crash about 4:45 p.m. Friday at the southbound offramp of U.S. Highway 95 to Jones Boulevard. Troopers released details of the crash Tuesday afternoon, saying that Merritt was driving south in a gold Toyota Camry approaching the intersection at Jones and lost control of the vehicle.
The Camry veered into the right shoulder, striking a white Lexus GS300 that was turning right onto Jones. The car continued southeast through the intersection, struck the curb and entered the property of 100 Upland Blvd. The front of the Camry hit landscaping and the right side of a parked Blue Scion TC, NHP said.
This marks Nevada Highway Patrol Southern Command's fifth fatal crash this year.
