VOLUSIA COUNTY, FL : A Volusia County Sheriff's Office deputy involved in an off-duty crash on Saturday, December, 23rd 2017

A Volusia County Sheriff's Office deputy involved in an off-duty crash in his personal vehicle has been charged with driving under the influence.

Deputies said Luke Deegan, 36, was charged with two counts of DUI with property damage and three counts of DUI with injuries.

Deegan was involved in a crash with three other vehicles on Williamson Bouelvard and Dunn Avenue in Daytona Beach on Saturday, according to authorities.

Deputies said three people, excluding Deegan, were taken to a hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.

Deegan, who has been with the Sheriff's Office since May of 2015, has been placed on administrative leave with pay.
