Chester County, SC : One person killed in a vehicle accident on Augusta Road near Catawba River Road on Tuesday afternoon, March 15, 2016

At least one person was killed in a vehicle accident in Chester County Tuesday afternoon, according to the SC Highway Patrol.

The crash happened just before 3 p.m. on Augusta Road near Catawba River Road. Officials have not released many details, but confirmed that at least one person was killed.

From WBTV's Sky 3, a single vehicle could be seen that appeared to have struck a tree. Multiple emergency crews were at the scene and had the road shut down around the wreck.

Investigators have not said what may have led to the crash.
