MILLINGTON, TN : Man charged with DUI after driving wrong way, causing collision on Tuesday, 13th September 2016
A man that was driving the wrong way on Highway 385 and caused a serious accident has been charged with DUI, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
The serious crash caused officials to shut down Highway 385 westbound near New Brunswick Road, just past mile marker 39, close to Millington.
Shelby County Fire Department said they received a report that a vehicle was traveling the wrong direction on Highway 385 when it collided with another vehicle.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the vehicle was traveling south in the northbound lane at 70-75 mph.
The vehicle, a 2002 Ford F-150, was driven by Steven Walls, 40, from Lamar, Mississippi. Walls has been charged with DUI.
Walls crashed into another vehicle, driven by 22-year-old Shelby Ferris from Eads, Tennessee. Farris was driving a 2002 Honda Accord.
Both individuals were transported in serious condition to Regional Medical Center.
