BRIDGEPORT, PA : Police officer caused 'chain-reaction' crash on Wednesday, 4th November, 2020
A city police officer was treated for non-life-threatening injuries after losing control of their vehicle and crashing Wednesday night, according to officials.
An officer responding to a call “lost control of their police vehicle and struck a parked vehicle” on Park Avenue near Rooster River Boulevard shortly before 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, said Scott Appleby, the city’s director of emergency communications and emergency management.He said the officer hitting the parked vehicle caused a “chain-reaction” crash into four other parked vehicles.The officer was taken to the hospital to be evaluated for non-life-threatening injuries, Appleby said.
