PUTNAM, CT : Driver charged with DUI, 2 passengers hurt in Putnam crash on February, Saturday 3rd 2018
A Putnam man was charged with drunken driving in a one-car crash Saturday that injured two passengers, police said.
Police said Jacob Privee, 20, of 106 South Main St. was driving a 2004 Ford Mustang east on Underwood Road near Sabin Street when he lost control of the vehicle shortly after 10 p.m. The car veered onto the shoulder and hit several small trees, then went back into the road and came to rest in the lane for westbound traffic.
Mr. Privee was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, reckless driving, failing to drive to the right; possession of alcohol by a minor, and tampering with evidence. He was released on $5,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in Danielson Superior Court on Feb. 14, police said.
Police said a passenger, Kyle Crossman, 20, of Brooklyn, Connecticut, was taken by Putnam EMS to Day Kimball Hospital with serious injuries and was later transferred to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. A UMass Memorial official said Mr. Crossman was released Sunday.
A 16-year-old female passenger suffered minor injuries and was treated at Day Kimball Hospital, police said.
