Volcano,HI : Man killed in Big Island vehicle crash identified on may, Wednesday 31th 2017

The man killed in a single vehicle crash at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park has been identified.

Officials from the National Parks Service say 48 year old John Ashley Becker of Texas was found pinned beneath the vehicle Sunday night.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

NPS Officials say 43-year-old Kenneth Ewing of Pahoa lost control of a white Toyota Tacoma while driving along highway 11 causing the vehicle rolled over and ejected all three occupants.

He's being charged in federal court and if he is convicted, he could face up to 10 years in federal prison, and a fine up to $250,000.

The third passenger was taken to the Hilo Medical Center for Treatment.
