Lantana,FL: FHP trooper hit by car on I-95 in critical but stable condition on October, Monday 2st 2017
A Florida Highway Patrol trooper struck by a car Sunday morning as he stood outside his patrol vehicle on Interstate 95 was in critical but stable condition on Monday afternoon, an FHP spokesman said.
Andy Ong, a 51-year-old trooper, was taken to Delray Medical Center after he was hit by by a Ford Focus that lost control after being struck by Honda Accord. The drivers of the two other cars involved in the crash were also taken to hospitals with minor injuries.
The crash took place near the Hypoluxo Road exit in Lantana at about 10:30 a.m. and shut down the interstate’s northbound lanes for hours.
Florida Department of Law Enforcement records show that Ong has served as a FHP trooper since 2005. Ong is a resident of Lake Worth.
