WATERLOO, IA : Former Waterloo man dies in California motorcycle crash on Saturday, December, 9th 2017

A former Waterloo man died last week in a motorcycle crash in California near the U.S.-Mexico border, a San Diego television station reported.

Television station KSWB reported Craig Reuter, 35, of Vista, Calif., was westbound on state Route 94 near Emery Road in Potrero shortly after 1 p.m. Dec. when he lost control of his two-wheeler, sending it crashing into a guardrail, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Reuter, who was wearing a helmet, died at the scene despite efforts by a bystander and paramedics to revive him with CPR, the station reported.

Services are pending with Locke Funeral Home in Waterloo. Information from the funeral home indicated he served in the U.S. Navy.
