Northampton County, PA : Nazareth woman injured in crash with rig on Route 512 in East Allen Township on Thursday, January 7, 2016
A 31-year-old Nazareth woman was driving north Thursday night on Route 512 in East Allen Township when a tractor-trailer made a left turn in front of her to head south on the highway near Silver Crest Road, Pennsylvania State Police said.
Jessica F. Yoo's vehicle at 9:03 p.m. crashed into and then under the trailer, which was still in the northbound lane as Joshua Absolom Shaw, 41, of Blakeslee, Pennsylvania, exited Schall's Brakes and Repairs at 7710-16 Route 512, police said.
Yoo had to be cut free from the vehicle. Her injuries were apparently "extensive" in the "severe" crash, police said.
She was transported to St. Luke's University Hospital in Fountain Hill, police said. A hospital supervisor didn't immediately return a phone message seeking Yoo's condition.
Shaw was not hurt in the crash, police said.
A trooper on Friday morning couldn't say if anyone is being cited in the crash.
Police from the Bethlehem barracks were assisted by the Allen Township Fire Department, the East Allen Township Fire Department and Northampton Regional EMS.
