JOANNA, SC : A collision in Joanna on Wednesday, 13th June 2018

The Laurens County Coroner's Office responded to a collision in Joanna on Thursday.

The collision occurred on Whitmire Highway at 4:13 p.m.

Troopers said a 1996 GMC pickup truck was traveling west on Whitmire Hwy when it ran off the right side of the roadway, struck a mailbox and then traveled back off the left side of the road, overturning and hitting a tree.

The driver died at the scene, said troopers. The victim was identified as 23-year-old George Franklin Stockman III of Joanna. The coroner said Stockman died from blunt force trauma.
