Paynesville, MN : 5 injured in Stearns County accident on Friday afternoon, October 21, 2016

Five passengers were injured Friday afternoon, one seriously, when a vehicle left Minnesota state Highway 4 north of Paynesville in Stearns County.

Noah Polipnick, 18, of Sauk Centre was driving a GMC northbound on Highway 4 just north of 260th Street when he drifted across the southbound lanes, went down into the west ditch, struck a field approach, and then vaulted coming to final rest in plowed field, according to the incident report filed by the Minnesota State Patrol.

Polipnick had no apparent injuries, but his passengers: Gabriel Polipnick, 14; Domenic Ritter, 13; Christopher Polipnick, 11; and James Polipnick, 11, received non-life threatening injuries, and Anastasia Polipnick, 7, received serious injuries, according to the report. All are listed as being from Sauk Centre.

The accident happened around 5:20 p.m. Officers from the Belgrade and Paynesville police departments assisted at the scene.
