Athens, AL: Single-vehicle crash claims the life of Athens on Thursday August 6th 2015

Alabama state troopers say a single-vehicle crash claimed the the life of an Athens Teen on Thursday.
14-year-old Andres Vicente was the passenger in a 1999 Mercury. The vehicle was on Easter Ferry Road 10 miles east of Athens when it left the road and hit a tree.
Vicente was reportedly not wearing a seat belt and was taken to University of Alabama at Birmingham Children's Hospital. Officials say he died at the hospital on Friday.
Authorities say the Mercury’s 16-year-old driver and another teenage passenger, were also injured and transported to an area hospital for treatment of their injuries.
