Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania
A 21-year-old Allentown woman was pronounced dead at the scene of a head-on crash early Saturday morning in the city, according to authorities.
Lizaida Antonetty was the passenger of a vehicle involved in a wreck in the 300 block of Hamilton Street about 2:07 a.m., according to the Lehigh County coroner’s office. An autopsy is slated for Monday to determine the exact cause of death.
Allentown police Capt. James Keiser said Antonetty was traveling westbound on Hamilton Street in a car driven by 20-year-old Fernando Hernandez, of Allentown. That car collided with one driven by Michael Veliz, 22, also of Allentown.
Keiser said Hernandez and Veliz had minor injuries. Police came upon the crash on the bridge over the Jordan Creek shortly after it happened and before anyone called for help, Keiser said.
Police are investigating and the Lehigh County district attorney’s office is assisting in the investigation.
