Reno, NV : One person dead following a rollover crash on Interstate 80 near Sparks on Sunday morning, Sep 20, 2015

Authorities say one person is dead following a rollover crash on Interstate 80 near Sparks.

The interstate had been closed Sunday morning due to the accident but has since reopened to traffic.

A preliminary investigation found that the driver of a semi-truck traveling eastbound had drifted into the right shoulder and then overcorrected the truck, causing the vehicle to overturn and land on its side. Both eastbound travel lanes had been blocked.

The male passenger was ejected and died of his injuries at the scene. The driver was taken to a Reno hospital with injuries that were not life threatening.
