CAMDEN TOWNSHIP, OH : Woman killed, two men injured in Camden Township crash on Thursday, March 23rd 2017
A Wakeman woman died and two other men were injured in a two-car crash Thursday in Camden Township.
Joanette Mullins, 50, was critically injured in the crash near the intersection of Ohio 511 and Ohio 303. Mullins died while a medical helicopter was flying her to MetroHealth, the State Highway Patrol said in a news release.
Mullins' husband, 52, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and received treatment at Allen Mercy Hospital in Oberlin.
A Wellington man, 39, was also seriously injured and taken via helicopter to MetroHealth. That man is in stable condition, the Highway Patrol said.
The Wellington man's 5-year-old daughter was also in his pickup but was not injured.
The crash happened just before 8 a.m. when Mullins' husband, who was driving a 2007 Kia Sportage, failed to stop at a stop sign on Ohio 303, the Highway Patrol said.
The Wellington man, who was driving a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup, crashed into the Kia. Both vehicles went off the road and struck a utility pole and a highway sign, the Highway Patrol said.
Each of the three adults were wearing seatbelts. The 5-year-old girl was in a child's car seat, the Highway Patrol said.
No one has been charged in connection with the incident. Alcohol and drug use are not suspected of being factors in the crash, the Highway Patrol said.
