Mansfield man killed in crash on Rt. 495 in Middleboro

A Mansfield man was killed after a rollover crash on Route 495 in Middleboro Monday night.

The 40-year-old man, whom police did not identify, crashed his 2004 Jeep Wrangler near mile marker 15 before Exit 6 in Middleboro on the northbound side about 6:10 p.m., police said.

The man "lost control of his car and rolled over several times coming to rest in the right travel lane," in the single-car crash State Police said.

He was taken to Morton Hospital where he later died.
The cause of the crash is under investigation by State Police.

The right lane of Route 495 northbound was closed until 7:50 p.m. following the crash.
