A psychology professor at Coe College has died after he was struck by a truck while riding a bicycle.

An Iowa State Patrol report says Daniel Lehn was taken to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics after he was struck at around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The report says Lehn, who was 58, of North Liberty was riding the same direction as the pickup driven by 27-year-old Devin Disterhoft.

Disterhoft, of Tiffin, was not injured.

Coe College President David McInally confirms Lehn died.
McInally says in a statement that Lehn was regarded as a first-rate teacher and scholar known for his keen sense of humor and quick wit.

Lehn began teaching at Coe in 1993. He taught several psychology classes and was associate dean of the faculty.
