Ripley,NY : Buffalo man injured, Angola driver jailed after Ripley accident on June, Saturday 10th 2017
A Buffalo man was seriously injured by an alleged drunk driver in a late night crash here Saturday. The victim was flown to Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pa., for treatment of life-threatening injuries, according to the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office.
Mathew C. Vogt, 41, of Onondaga Avenue was struck by a car driven by Rory S. Stevenson, 61, of Angola, while the victim was walking along Route 20 about 11:07 p.m. Saturday. Stevenson was charged with second-degree vehicular assault, DWI and numerous traffic infractions, according to officials.
After his initial arraignment in Ripley Town Court, Stevenson was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail in Mayville pending further court proceedings. The current medical condition of Vogt could not be obtained from the hospital Sunday.
