Vernon Parish, LA : Two 19-year-olds killed in a single-vehicle accident on Louisiana Highway 10 east of Pitkin early Sunday morning, June 26, 2016

Two 19-year-olds were in a single-vehicle accident early Sunday morning, killing one and injuring the other. Louisiana State Police suspect alcohol is a factor. Neither were wearing a seat belt, according to police.

Troop E responded around 3:55 a.m. to the crash on Louisiana Highway 10 east of Pitkin. Alfred J. Trosclair III, 19, was driving a 2015 Toyota pickup truck westbound when he lost control and exited the left side of the roadway, according to a State Police release. Once off the road, the truck hit a tree and overturned.

Trosclair was pronounced dead on the scene. His only passenger, Carl L. James, also 19 yrs, received moderate injuries from being ejected during the crash. James was transported to Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria.

The investigation is ongoing. Routine toxicology tests are pending, according to LSP.
