PERU, IN : Two injured in Peru motorcycle crash on April, Sunday 2nd 2017
Two people were hospitalized Sunday evening after a 16-year-old driver pulled out in front of a motorcycle.
Police were called to the scene at around 6:30 p.m. on a report of a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of Broadway and Warren Street involving a motorcycle.
An investigation revealed Bryce Stapleton, 16, Peru, pulled out in front of motorcycle driven by 45-year-old Michael Miller, Peru, according to an accident report.
A passenger on the motorcycle, Angela Stone, 53, Peru, told police they were driving south on Broadway when she heard Miller say they were going to be hit just before Stapleton pulled out in front of them.
Stone was ejected from the motorcycle and thrown into another vehicle stopped at the intersection. She sustained a head injury and minor bleeding and was transported to a hospital. Miller sustained injuries on his lower body and was later airlifted to a hospital.
Stone and Miller were wearing helmets at the time of the crash, according to the accident report.
Stapleton was cited for failing to yield the right of way.
