KILLINGTON, VT : Three injured in crash on Sunday, March 12th 2017
Police said three people were hurt in what they believe was a drunken driving crash early Sunday morning.
Vermont State Police said a 2016 Volkswagen sedan driven by Rianna Montville, 28, of Killington, collided head-on on Killington Road with a 2011 Toyota truck driven by Christopher Sincavage, 45, of Pennsylviania.
Police said both drivers and a passenger in the truck were taken to Rutland Regional Medical Center. Montville suffered a broken rib and multiple lacerations, according to police, while Sincavage suffered a suspected neck injury and a laceration to his right ear. Both were treated and released.
The passenger, 25-year-old Lawrence Gadaleta of Pennsylvania, suffered a suspected broken jaw, teeth and other facial bones, according to police, and was taken from the Rutland hospital to the University of Vermont Medical Center for additional treatment.
Police said Gadaleta was the only of the three who was not wearing a seatbelt.
Both drivers showed signs of impairment at the scene, were screened for DUI and refused preliminary breath tests, according to police. Police said Montville consented to providing a blood test, but Sincavage refused and that they got a warrant for a sample of his blood and that they are awaiting test results.
Police said both vehicles were total losses.
The crash is still under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact Chief Montgomery at the Killington Police Department.
