Evansville, IN : Driver injured after car crashes head-on into utility pole on Fares Avenue at Morgan on Wednesday, June 29, 2016

A driver is in the hospital after an overnight wreck in Evansville.

Police say the car was headed north on Fares Avenue at Morgan when it hit a utility pole head-on. The impact moved the pole and knocked down a traffic control box.

We're told the driver went to the hospital, but is expected to be okay.

Police say the stoplights were not working and one wire was down along Fares.

Vectren was on scene and police are investigating.
