Lincoln, NE : Cozad woman killed in crash in Dawson County on Monday, 26th September 2016

A 59-year-old woman was killed Monday south of Cozad when two vehicles collided at the intersection of a state highway and county road.

The Dawson County sheriff’s office said Mary Robertson, 59, died when the SUV she was riding in was hit by a Saturn car driven by Hailey Boutin, 19, of Eustis.
The collision occurred at 7:36 p.m. at the corner of county road 751 and Nebraska Highway 21 south of Cozad, Lt. Tucker Case said. The intersection is near the Gallagher Canyon State Recreation Area.

Monty Robinson, 64, was driving the SUV, Case said. He was taken to the Cozad hospital and transferred by helicopter to Good Samaritan in Kearney.

Boutin was taken to the Cozad hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Seat restraints were in use, the sheriff’s office said.

The Robertsons were northbound on Hwy 21 and Boutin was westbound on Road 751.

In addition to sheriff’s deputies, the Nebraska State Patrol, the Eustis Fire Dept. and the Dawson County Attorney’s office responded to the scene.
