Phoenix, AZ : Fatal crash closes 91st Ave. from Indian School Road to Columbus Avenue on Wednesday, 17th July 2019

A vehicle collided with a utility pole, killing one person early Wednesday morning in the West Valley, according to Phoenix police.

The collision occurred around 5 a.m. near 91st Avenue and Indian School Road, according to Sgt. Vince Lewis, a Phoenix Police Department spokesman.

91st Avenue will be closed from Indian School Road to Columbus Avenue for the next few hours so personnel can secure the utility pole and investigate the collision, Lewis said.

According to Lewis, motorists are advised to avoid the area and use an alternate route.
