Killeen, TX : Killeen PD investigating vehicle/pedestrian accident on Tuesday, 30th August, 2016
Another incident of a vehicle striking a pedestrian in the roadway occurred Tuesday evening, making it the fourth such accident to occur in the Killeen area in less than two weeks.
Killeen police officers responded to the 2300 block of East Highway 190 at 9:10 p.m. after receiving calls that a pedestrian had been hit in the area of the Chuck E. Cheese restaurant.
According to a press release issued by KPD, officers arrived to find an injured female and a gold Buick Lacrosse. The preliminary investigation revealed that the female was walking northbound across Highway 190 when she was struck by a gold 2009 Buick Lacrosse that was traveling westbound in the entrance ramp to Highway 190. The 18-year-old female was transported by ambulance to Baylor Scott & White Hospital in critical condition, according to the release.
The driver of the Buick was not injured in the crash.
The Killeen Police Department Traffic Unit continues to investigate the crash and the circumstances surrounding it. Information will be released as it becomes available.
