WALTON COUNTY, FL : Freeport man killed in collision with semi on April, Tuesday 11th 2017

Authorities have not released the name of an individual killed Tuesday afternoon in a head-on collision with a semi-truck on U.S. Highway 90.

They are waiting to notify next of kin, according to a press release from the Florida Highway Patrol.

The victim, a Freeport man, was driving a sedan eastbound around 1 p.m. when the accident occurred.

Just west of Rene Road, the sedan driver began to drift into the westbound lane, where he collided with a semi driven by Reginald Charles McCullough of Mobile, Alabama. McCollough swerved to the right but was unable to avoid the collision.

He sustained minor injuries and was taken to Healthmark Hospital in DeFuniak Springs.
