One person was killed and two others were injured in a crash in northwest Charlotte Sunday evening.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say a 2006 Suzuki GSXR600 collided with a 2003 Toyota Highlander at an intersection in the 11500 block of Mount Holly Road. It happened around 5:38 p.m.
Police say the motorcyclist was speeding when he collided with the Toyota, which was attempting to turn left onto Belmeade Drive. The driver of the motorcycle, 26-year-old Joseph Michael Billings, was pronounced dead on scene by Medic.
The driver and passenger in the Toyota went to Carolinas Medical Center with minor injuries.
Police say drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be contributing factors. Billings' family has been notified of his death.
The crash remains under investigation.
