Monroe, MI : Toledo teen seriously injured in Bedford crash on Saturday, July 23, 2016

A serious injury traffic crash occurred at 6:45 p.m. Saturday at Douglas and Samaria Rds.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, a Toledo 16-year-old was driving a maroon 2001 Ford F-150 north on Douglas, approaching the intersection at Samaria. He failed to stop for the posted stop sign at Samaria, entered the intersection and struck a boat and trailer being pulled by a black 2008 Ford F-150. A 58-year-old Monroe man was pulling the boat east on Samaria. Samaria is not governed with a traffic control device and has the right-of-way.

The teen, who suffered serious injuries, was transported by ambulance to ProMedica Toledo Hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.

The other driver, who was not injured in the crash, was released from the scene.
Assisting at the scene was members of the Bedford Township Fire Department and Monroe Community Ambulance.
