Green Twp, OH : Elijah M. Mcatee, 19, killed, and one injured in single-vehicle crash on Five Points Road in Green Township on Saturday morning, Aug 8, 2015
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a crash in Wayne County that left a 19-year-old man dead and three others injured Saturday morning, authorities said.
According to the OSHP’s Wooster post, Elijah M. Mcatee, of Wooster, was driving west on Five Points Road, west of North Crown Hill Road, just before 2:30 a.m. when he traveled off the right side of the road.
Authorities said Mcatee then struck a ditch before overturning and striking a utility pole.
Mcatee was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials stated three other Orville residents were in the car at the time of the crash.
A 45-year-old male passenger sustained serious injuries and was taken to Aultman Orrville Hospital.
Another male passenger, 18, was thrown from the car during the crash and also sustained serious injuries. He was taken to Akron City Hospital.
A third passenger – a 17-year-old male – was thrown from the car as a result of the crash and sustained minor injuries. He was taken to Aultman Orrville Hospital for treatment, the OSHP said.
Authorities said none of the occupants were wearing seat belts at the time of the incident.
