CANTERBURY, N.H : Police release identity of motorcyclist killed in Canterbury crash

New Hampshire State Police have released the name of the motorcyclist killed in a crash on Interstate 93 over the weekend.

State police said Peter M. Pierce, 57, of Wakefield, Mass., was traveling south on I-93 in the town of Canterbury on Sunday afternoon when he went off the side of the road and hit several trees.

Pierce was taken to a hospital with severe head injuries and was pronounced dead a short time later.

Troopers said it appears a medical condition may have contributed to the crash. The man was wearing a helmet and appropriate protective gear.

State police continue to investigate.
