Monett, MO : Mississippi man injured, arrested after wreck on Interstate 44, east of Mt. Vernon on Sunday, June 26, 2016
A Mississippi man was injured and later arrested following a wreck Sunday at 4:45 a.m. on Interstate 44, 10 miles east of Mt. Vernon.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Terrance Stokes, 32, of Horn Lake, Miss., was driving a 2012 Chevrolet Colorado westbound when his vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway, overcorrected, then went off the right side of the roadway and overturned.
Stokes suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
He was not wearing a safety device, and the vehicle was totaled.
At 5:40 a.m., Stokes was arrested for driving while intoxicated and careless and imprudent driving.
