Muscatine, IA : Man injured in a crash on Tuesday morning, September 27, 2016

An accident on Tuesday morning left a Muscatine man injured.

At 7:43 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, Muscatine County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the intersection of Highway 61 and Sweetland Road where a crash involving two vehicles had been reported, according to a press release from the Muscatine County Sheriff's Office.

Dameon Lick, 16, of Muscatine, was allegedly attempting to cross the northbound lanes of Highway 61 at Sweetland Road. He was operating a Pontiac Grand Prix, according to the press release.

While attempting to turn into the southbound lanes of Highway 61, Lick's vehicle allegedly collided with a Ford Econoline Van, operated by Lucas Wegener, 35, of Walcott, which was traveling northbound near the intersection, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Lick was transported by Muscatine Ambulance, but Wegener was not injured. Both drivers were wearing lap and shoulder belts, according to the press release.

Investigation into the crash is ongoing by the Muscatine County Sheriff’s Office. The Muscatine Police Department, Wilton Fire Department and Muscatine Ambulance also responded to the scene.
