Tangipahoa Parish, LA : 21-year-old person died in a three-vehicle crash on Wednesday October 19th 2016

Authorities say a driver who fled police during a traffic stop has died following a three-vehicle crash.

That Louisiana State Police say 21-year-old Darious Rashaad Ashton died Wednesday after being taken to a hospital.

Police say officers were attempting to pull over Ashton, when he refused to stop and continued driving. At some point, authorities say Ashton failed to stop at a stop sign and was hit by another car, driven by 20-year-old Trey Thomas of Bogalusa.

Afterward, Ashton’s vehicle was hit by a dump truck, driven by 36-year-old Daniel Funderburk of Independence. Police say that Ashton was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.
