SAGINAW TOWNSHIP, MI : 37-year-old killed in hit-and-run crash in Saginaw Township on Sunday, 11th August 2024

A 37-year-old woman died after police say a pickup truck ran a red light and crashed into her at a Saginaw Township intersection.

The Saginaw Township Police Department says 37-year-old Melissa Wood was driving a Chevrolet Malibu north on Hospital Road around 5:25 p.m. Saturday, when she attempted to make a left turn to head west on Tittabawassee Road.

Police say a 44-year-old woman from St. Louis, Mich., driving a Ford F-150 pickup truck east on Tittabawassee Road ran a red light and slammed into Wood's car. An ambulance rushed Wood to an area hospital, where she died.
