Texarkana,AR : Man dies in crash; woman is arrested on September, Saturday 2nd 2017

A local woman has been charged with intoxication manslaughter after a crash that killed a man Saturday at New Boston Road and Reading Avenue, police said.

Texarkana, Texas, police have charged Callie Jones, 58, in the death of Skylar Crenshaw, 29. Police said Jones, of Texarkana, was southbound on Reading Avenue in a 2002 Honday Civic when she stopped at a stop sign at New Boston Road. After stopping, however, police said Jones attempted to continue south before striking Crenshaw's motorcycle. The crash forced Crenshaw from the motorcycle and hurled him into a utility pole support cable, according to a prepared statement from Texarkana, Texas, Police Department. Crenshaw, who wasn't wearing a helmet, died at the scene, authorities said.

Jones suffered no injuries nor did a passenger, who police identified Rodney Huff, 59, also a Texas-side resident. The report states Jones exhibited signs of intoxication and failed a field sobriety test. She was then arrested.

Police later booked Jones into the Bi-Sate Justice Building jail where she is being held, pending bail.
