Atlanta, GA : Child critically injured and woman injured in collision with tractor trailer on Interstate 85 in Gwinnett County on Thursday, March 10, 2016

An 8-year-old child was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition after a crash on Interstate 85 northbound Thursday.

Police say the wreck near I-985 in Gwinnett County involved an SUV and a tractor-trailer.

The child’s mother, who was driving the SUV, was taken to Northeast Georgia Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.
