A Tishomingo woman was killed and an Ada woman was injured over the weekend in a Carter County wreck.
The wreck occurred at 10:17 p.m. on U.S. 77 one mile north of Springer, according to a report released Tuesday evening.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Walter Jack said 47-year-old Orlando W. Brown of Stratford was driving a 2014 Nissan Sentra south when he failed to make a curve, ran off the road to the right and crashed into an embankment.
Brown was not injured. A passenger, 47-year-old Terry E. Alexander of Tishomingo, was taken to Mercy Hospital Ardmore, where she was pronounced dead.
Another passenger, 45-year-old Donna K. Ward of Ada, was taken by Air Evac Lifeteam to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City and admitted in serious condition with internal and head injuries.
Jack said only Brown was wearing a seat belt.
Springer firefighters and Southern Oklahoma Ambulance Service also responded.
