Seminole County, FL : One person injured after a rollover crash on West 9th Street and Pecan Avenue on Tuesday, March 3, 2015
A car ends up on its side after speeding through a residential neighborhood in Seminole County.
It happened around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday near the corner of West 9th Street and Pecan Avenue in Sanford’s Goldsboro neighborhood.
“It just sounded like maybe someone lost control or something and just a ‘boom,’ something that just happened,” said Shantee Hall, who heard the accident.
Hall was at her home when an Infiniti speeding south on Pecan Avenue began to swerve. The car lost control, hit a pole and flipped on its side, coming to rest 15 feet from a home.
Witnesses ran to help those inside.
“They went on in and helped him and there was a lot of smoke,” Hall said.
Titus Manning said he saw three people jump from the car and run away.
“They climbed over their homeboy, supposed to be their friend. They climbed over him, crossed him, and left him,” Manning said.
Manning said he didn’t think twice about running in to help save the man who was a passenger in the car.
“So I ran over there and grabbed this homeboy,” Manning said. “I couldn’t get this homeboy out at first, so I turned him sideways then I pulled him out. I kept him living until the ambulance got there.”
Investigators believe two women and a man jumped out of the car and took off before help arrived. Now police want to talk with them.
“We want to find out from the other individuals in the car what happened, what made them flee the scene,” said Ronny Neal from the Sanford Police Department.
As of Tuesday night, the victim was hospitalized in critical condition.
