Lenoir County, NC: Troopers identify elderly woman killed in accident on Wednesday, July 22nd 2015
Troopers say charges are pending against the driver of a car that they say caused a deadly crash Wednesday afternoon in Lenoir County.Killed in the wreck was 87-year-old Thelma Sandlin.The elderly Beulaville woman was a passenger in a car that troopers say ran a stop sign at the intersection of Hugo Road and Grifton Hugo Road. A pickup truck struck the passenger car.The driver of the car, 59-year-old Pamela Mobley of Beulaville, is in critical condition at Vidant Medial Center. Troopers say charges are pending against Mobley, who was a family friend of the woman killed.The pickup truck driver was taken to Lenoir Memorial Hospital and has since been released from the hospital.
