Omaha, NE : 83-year-old Nebraska man sentenced to 2 days in jail for crash that killed motorcyclist on October 24, 2014.
A Nebraska judge has sentenced an 83-year-old driver to two days in jail for causing a fatal crash.
Hugh Williams will serve the jail time on the next two anniversaries of the wreck that killed 26-year-old Preston Turner. Williams will serve supervised probation for two years and will not be allowed to drive during that time. He also was ordered to write an apology letter to Turner's parents and perform 100 hours of community service.
Authorities say Williams was turning in May when he failed to yield to Turner, who was driving a motorcycle. Turner was pronounced dead at the scene.
