Bellevue police said no serious injures occurred after an eight car pile-up Saturday morning around 8:40 a.m.

Officials said a reckless vehicle was reported swerving on the road and striking other vehicles near Highway 370 and 36th Street. As officers investigated, they found that the vehicle involved was stolen from 32nd Street and Corona Avenue earlier in the day.

The driver of the stolen vehicle was identified as Pedro Padilla, 30, and he was reported as driving recklessly. Eight cars were involved in the crash.

"Somebody had hit me and so I got out of the car and saw all three other cars that had got hit, and saw (that) the one car that was hitting everybody was smoking. So then I realized I wasn't the only one in the crash," said Elizabeth Baldwin, who was involved the crash.

Padilla suffered an injury and was taken to Nebraska Medicine.

A driver of one of the other vehicles involved was also taken to Nebraska Medicine where she was treated for minor injuries and later released.

Other drivers involved in the pile-up also suffered minor injuries but did not require medical assistance.
