Portland,OR : Fatal car crash on Highway 30 near Astoria on April, Sunday 22th 2018

A fatal car crash closed Highway 30 near Astoria for three hours Sunday afternoon.

Oregon State Police said a Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Lori Courtwright, 44, of Warrenton was eastbound when it crossed the double yellow centerline and collided nearly head-on with a westbound Toyota Prius driven by Douglas Morgan, 54, of Astoria.

Morgan died on scene and Courtwright was taken to an air ambulance in Astoria and flown to a Portland area hospital with serious injuries. Police are still investigating the accident.
