Rochester, MN : 14-year-old suspected driver in 2-car crash on April, Sunday 23rd 2017
A 14-year-old girl accused of taking a family vehicle without permission is also suspected of causing a two-car crash Sunday evening, authorities said today.
The incident was reported about 7 p.m., when a man reported the crash at Olmsted County Road 3 and 65th Street Northwest in Kalmar Township.
He told deputies he was driving south on County 3 and saw a westbound SUV approach the intersection. The driver — a 14-year-old girl from Rochester — "rolled through the stop sign," the report says, and pulled out in front of the other vehicle.
The man saw three girls get out and run, said Capt. Scott Behrns of the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office, and "heard someone yelling about someone having to take the fall."
The girls who ran were all passengers, the report says; the teenage driver stayed with the SUV.
She could be charged with failure to yield right of way, no Minnesota driver's license and failure to drive with due care, Behrns said.
