Farmington ,ME : 17-year-old driver injured and may face charges after motor cycle and pickup crash along Route 27 on Wednesday ,May 27th 2015
A Franklin County teenager injured in a crash in Farmington may face charges, according to Sheriff Scott Nichols.
Deputies were notified about a motorist in a pickup truck traveling at a high rate of speed on Route 27 around 11:30 a.m., according to Nichols.
A responding deputy was nearly struck by the truck at the intersection of Route 27 and Route 4 as the 17-year-old driver was traveling south on Route 27, Nichols said.
The pickup was followed into Farmington traveling at speeds up to 75 mph in a 30 mph zone, Nichols said.
The teen lost control at Horns Corner, crashing into three cars that were parked in the parking lot of ACME Engineering and Medulla Hair Salon, Nichols said.
The driver was taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries and a psychological evaluation, Nichols said. All four vehicles involved were totaled, and no other injuries were reported.
