CHEROKEE County, SC : Man killed in Chesnee Hwy crash in Cherokee Co., 1 other airlifted to hospital near Corona Drive on Thursday, 4th July 2019

The Cherokee County Coroner’s Office identified the man who was killed in an early morning crash Thursday on Chesnee Highway.
South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers said one driver died and another person was hurt in the crash that happened around 1:15 a.m. near Corona Drive.
Troopers said the driver of a Toyota was traveling north on Chesnee Highway and crossed the center line, and then crashed into a vehicle headed in the opposite direction.
The driver of the Toyota was trapped and died at the scene of the crash, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol.
Coroner Dennis Fowler identified the driver of the Toyota as Andrew Boineau Johnston, 33, of Gaffney.
Troopers told us that the other driver who was hit was airlifted to Spartanburg Medical Center for treatment.
