PARKER CITY, IN : Moped rider killed in Parker City accident on Friday, 6th September 2019

A man was killed Friday in a moped accident along Ind. 32 in Parker City.

The 54-year-old victim’s name was not immediately released as authorities tried to locate his family, according to Ken Hendrickson, chief deputy of the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department.

The man was apparently from out of state, although he possibly had been staying in the Muncie area recently.

Hendrickson said the man was riding the moped eastbound on the state highway near Jerry’s Dairy Freezer, at 101 E. Jackson St., when the vehicle struck a curb and he fell to the pavement.

The victim, who was not wearing a helmet, suffered fatal head injuries.

The accident reportedly took place about 5 p.m.
