NOBLESVILLE, IN : An Anderson man and his passenger escaped with minor injuries in a traffic accident on Sunday, December, 10th 2017

An Anderson man and his passenger escaped with minor injuries in a traffic accident that closed part of Indiana 37 for more than two hours on Sunday.

Noblesville Police Department public information officer Lt. Bruce Barnes said the accident occurred at the intersection of Indiana 37 and Field Drive about 4:40 p.m. Witnesses told police a northbound 2006 Honda Accord was preparing to turn westbound onto Field Drive and pulled into the path of a southbound 2001 Dodge Dakota.

The driver of the truck, Jack R. Bays, 25, of Anderson, was unable to avoid the Honda and hit the passenger side of the car, Barnes said. Bays and a passenger in his vehicle were treated and released at the scene.

The driver of the Honda was identified as Jennifer L. Burdine, 38, of Indianapolis. She was taken to Riverview Health in Noblesville with minor injuries, Barnes said. A unidentified passenger in that car was transported by air ambulance to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis with non-life threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation, lanes of the state highway and Field Drive were either restricted or closed until approximately 7:10 p.m., Barnes said.
