Charlotte ,NC :Stolen car crashes following short police pursuit on Sunday morning ,August 23rd 2015

Police are investigating they said a stolen car was found crashed in west Charlotte early Sunday morning.
Officers said a person’s car was stolen during a robbery around 7:30 a.m. off Thriftwood Street and then just before 10 a.m. police spotted that vehicle.
As they attempted to stop the driver, the car sped off and led officers on a short chase.
After roughly two minutes, officers said they lost sight of the car near Freedom Drive and Camp Greene Street.
Then, about five minutes later, CMPD received a call that a car had crashed on Columbus Circle and that the occupants had ran away.
Officers determined it was the same stolen vehicle and set up a perimeter search. During that search, police detained one man, who they are calling a “person of interest.”
Investigators are working to determine the extent of that person's involvement.
No injuries have been reported.
