Georgetown, OH : Motorcyclist killed in Adams County accident on Saturday, July 30, 2016
A motorcycle accident over the weekend in Adams County, Ohio, claimed the life of a Lucasville, Ohio, woman.
According to Ohio State Highway Patrol, on July 30, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Roy W. Shadoan, 53, of Lucasville, was driving a 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on Ohio 247 north of Mount Leigh Road, in Scott Township, when he traveled off the left side off the road and struck a ditch.
A passenger on the motorcycle, Karen S. Blanton, 53, also of Lucasville, was injured and taken by AirEvac air ambulance to University of Cincinnati Medical Center. She died Monday morning as a result of her injuries, police said.
Shadoan was also taken to UCMC with, “…incapacitating injuries.” Police said.
Neither rider was wearing a helmet or protective equipment at the time of the crash; neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to be a factor at this time, police said.
The crash remains under investigation by OSHP.
